Connor MacMillan
Connor MacMillan is a Ph.D. student in the Department of Sociology at York University. Connor grew up in Vancouver B.C. His research interests lie within the dynamics of power, control, and privilege. Connor’s research is centred around race, specifically acts of racism and prejudice enacted by white groups. He is interested in studying how prejudicial discourse is spread, endorsed, internalized, and becomes normative within specific groups.
Research Interests: Power and control, race, gender, violence, intimate partner violence and coercive control.

A joint collaboration between academics at Simon Fraser University and community and women’s organizations working at the grass-roots level. The FREDA Centre is committed to participatory action research, focused specifically on violence against women and children, and works in the interests of the community to end this violence.
